Why the New Location?
The RBC Markham-Milliken Children's Festival will be held at a new location this year due to the upcoming reservoir construction taking place in the soccer and baseball fields behind the Milliken Mills Community Centre.
Since late 2007, volunteer committees consisting of 15 Milliken area residents have been searching Markham for an ideal location for the 2009 Festival. Many locations were considered, but the Markham Civic Centre was selected in part due to its access to public transportation, available parking space, site layout and proximity to residents and the Milliken community.
Once construction is complete, the RBC Markham-Milliken Children's Festival will move back to the Milliken area.
