It is only through the help of hundreds of volunteers that the City of Markham is able to deliver the fun-filled day that is the RBC Markham-Milliken Children's Festival. From planning activities, to setting up booths, to on-site staffing, our volunteers ensure the success of our yearly festival.

If you are selected, you will receive a confirmation email by August 20. If not, you will automatically be wait-listed, and contacted if a position becomes available.

Volunteers are asked for a minimum commitment of 10 hours between Friday, September 7 and Saturday, September 8.
Play Zones Volunteer Descriptions
Main Stage Entertainment
To assist with the sound system (must have some experience) and directing the performers. Also, keeping the time scheduling of the programme.
Arts & Crafts Booths
To assist the children with various arts and crafts projects.
To assist in keeping the children safe in the play area. To keep the play area clean and tidy.
Games and Rides
To assist in keeping the children safe on the games and rides. To monitor the line and keep order. To check for wristbands.
Exotic Animals and Farm Animal Petting Zoo
To monitor the line and keep order. To check for wristbands.
To wrap girls' hair with coloured threads. To keep the area clean and tidy.
To apply a small motif with henna.
To apply a small picture with face paints.
Mascots - are a wonderful part of the festival
Are you interested in being a mascot? This can be lots of fun. We are looking for volunteers to be our mascot Milliken Millie - must be 5'3" - 5'6" to fit into the costume. You and a friend can work together and be the mascot companion.
