History Description
The dwelling was relocated in the later 1990's to this location fromt he west side of Markham Road, just south of the current location due to construction of the 407 Highway. The dwelling was built for Delos and Jane Crosby on land owned by his father, Chauncy Crosby. Delos and Jane were married in 1836 and had 10 children. He was a farmer, a Methodist and a leading reformer in politics. The original house was a 1 storey Regency cottage that was altered in 1891 to a 1 1/2 storey dwelling. The brick changes from a double brick to brick veneer two-thirds of the way up the wall.
