The Development Services Public Meeting convened at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber with Deputy Mayor J. Jones in the Chair.

            OFFICIAL PLAN AND ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT
            TO PERMIT THE MODERNIZATION OF AN EXISTING
            CONCRETE PLANT (OP 06 132795, ZA 06 132837)

The Chair advised that the subject of the Public Meeting this date was to consider the proposed    Official Plan and Zoning By-law amendment, Files OP 06 132795 and ZA 06 132837, submitted by Dufferin Concrete to permit the modernization and upgrade of an existing concrete plant.

 

Committee was advised that 28 notices were mailed on February 28, 2007, and a Public Meeting sign was posted on February 23, 2007.  Committee received no written submissions.

 

 

 

Staff gave a presentation regarding the proposal, surrounding uses and outstanding issues. Outstanding issues include detailed review of landscaping and fencing and technical requirements that need to be provided to the Regional Municipality of York.

 

Representatives of the owners of Dufferin Concrete were in attendance to respond to questions.

 

There were no comments from the audience and the Committee raised a minor concern about the existing sidewalk along Woodbine Avenue.  Staff advised that this will be addressed in the final report.

Seconded by Councillor J. Webster

 

That the Development Services Commission report dated February 6, 2007 entitled "Preliminary Report, Dufferin Concrete, 7655 Woodbine Avenue Applications for Official Plan and zoning by-law amendment to permit the modernization of an existing concrete plant" (Files OP 06 132795 and ZA 06 132837), be received;

 

And that the record of the Public Meeting held on March 20, 2007 with respect to the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law amendments be received;

 

And further that the application by Dufferin Concrete for Official Plan and Zoning By-law amendments be referred back to staff for a report and recommendation.
