The Task Force convened at 1:10 p.m. with Councillor D. Horchik in the Chair.

1. MINUTES OF THE MAKE IT HAPPEN TASK FORCE MEETING HELD ON MAY 1, 2007

Moved by Councillor A. Chiu

Seconded by Regional Councillor J. Jones

That the minutes of the Make it Happen Task Force meeting held on May 1, 2007 be adopted.

2. APPROVAL OF TERMS OF REFERENCE

The draft Terms of Reference will be presented to Development Services Committee for approval on May 22, 2007.

That the draft Terms of Reference be approved.

3. MATTERS ARISING FROM DEVELOPERS ROUND TABLE

The Task Force was presented with a list of six (6) focus areas that were agreed upon at the Developers Round Table on May 2, 2007. It was noted that industry representatives are keen to assist the Task Force.

4. FORMATION OF WORKING GROUPS

There was brief discussion of the proposed Working Groups to tackle each of the six (6) areas of focus. Each group will comprise of a Councillor, a lead staff person, other staff representatives, and representatives from the industry. Commissioner Baird agreed to contact industry representatives regarding the assignments.

5. SCHEDULE FOR WORKING GROUPS

It was agreed that the lead staff person for each Working Group will prepare a project outline and report back to the Task Force at its next meeting. Following approval of the outlines, each Group will meet over the summer and present a final report to the Task Force in September, 2007.

6. TASK FORCE MEETING SCHEDULE (JUNE – SEPTEMBER, 2007)

The next meeting of the Task Force will be 1:00 p.m. on May 29, 2007.
