The Development Services Public Meeting convened at the hour of 7:32 p.m. in the Council Chamber with Deputy Mayor J. Jones in the Chair.

1.         TOWN INITIATED
            ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT
            8100 WARDEN AVENUE

The Chair advised the subject of the Public Meeting this date was to consider a Town initiated Zoning By-law amendment for the former Markham Hydro (now Powerstream) building at 8100 Warden Avenue.

 

The Committee Clerk advised that 17 notices were mailed on August 29, 2007, and a Public Meeting sign was posted on August 29, 2007.  No written submissions were received regarding this proposal.

 

Staff gave a presentation regarding the proposal, the location, surrounding uses and outstanding issues.

 

There were no comments from the audience with respect to this application.

Seconded by:  Councillor J. Virgilio

 

That the record of the Public Meeting held on September 18, 2007 with respect to the proposed Town initiated amendments to Rural Area Zoning By-law No. 304-87 and Markham Centre Zoning By-law No. 2004-196 to rezone the former Markham Hydro (now Powerstream) building at 8100 Warden Avenue from “Agricultural” (A1) to “Markham Centre Downtown One” (MC-D1), be received;

 

And, that the proposed amendments to By-laws 304-87 and 2004-196 be enacted without further notice.

The Chair advised the subject of the Public Meeting this date was to consider an application for Zoning by-law amendment submitted by Mackenzie Builders and Developers Ltd. (ZA 07 125617)

 

The Committee Clerk advised that 63 notices were mailed on August 29, 2007, and a Public Meeting sign was posted on August 28, 2007.  No written submissions were received regarding this proposal.

 

There were no comments from the audience with respect to this application.

That the record of the Public Meeting held on September 18, 2007 with respect to application ZA 07 125617 submitted by Mackenzie Builders and Developers Ltd. to amend Zoning By-law 177-96, as amended, be received;

 

That the rezoning application submitted by Mackenzie Builders and Developers Ltd. to amend Zoning By-law 177-96, as amended, be approved;

 

And that the proposed amendment to Zoning By-law 177-96, as amended, be enacted without further notice.
