The seventh meeting of the Markham Public Art Advisory Committee in 2007 convened at

7:25 p.m. with Sean Colangelo in the chair.

1. MINUTES OF THE MARKHAM PUBLIC ART ADVISORY COMMITTEE

MEETING HELD JUNE 13, 2007

That the minutes of the June 13, 2007 meeting of the Markham Public Art Advisory Committee be deferred to the September meeting due to lack of a quorum.

2. MUNICIPAL PUBLIC ART PLAN

Linda Irvine, Manager, Parks & Open Spaces advised the Committee that Council deferred the Municipal Public Art Plan presentation to September 2007.

3. 2007 ENVIRONMENTAL ART EVENT

Sean Colangelo reported to the Committee that the Winter Festival sub-committee met and put together a draft event proposal which was distributed to the Committee members. Sean advised to forward any further suggestions directly to Tom Giantsopoulos.

Ms. Irvine suggested that the sub-committee provide her with a brief and coherent overview of their proposal. She will put that information into a staff report and bring it forward to Development Services Committee on September 11, 2007. Ms. Irvine also advised that in order for this Event to happen the budgeted amount of $20,000 will need to be approved and Council’s support of the whole event is essential.

5. DATE FOR NEXT MEETING

The next meeting of the Markham Public Art Advisory Committee will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Ontario Room at the Markham Civic Centre
