As required by the Municipal Act, this report sets out the remuneration and expenses paid to Councillors and appointees to local boards and other bodies.
The Municipal Act requires the Treasurer to report to Council on remuneration and expenses paid to Councillors and appointees to local boards and other bodies. The relevant Section 284 (1) reads as follows:
These expenses have been made in accordance with By-law 77-93 as amended by By-law 2002-273.
The Municipal Finance Officer’s Association (MFOA) has been given a mandate to develop guidelines to be considered by municipalities governing the appropriate reimbursement to elected officials for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out their duties of their office.
Staff will bring forward a report outlining the details once the guidelines are finalized and released by MFOA.
No financial implications are considered in this report
