1. CALL TO ORDER
As there was no quorum, the members present informally discussed the issues as follows.
2.
CLEAR GARBAGE BAG PILOT
Claudia Marsales, Manager, Waste Management made a presentation concerning the Town’s initiative to have two small pilot programs for clear bag garbage pick up in the Fall, 2007. The focus groups consulted on this issue recommended that the Town should ‘just do it’ and report how it went. It was further recommended that a lot of rules not be set to complicate the pilot. Claudia also commented that clear bags will be used in the parks as part of the pilot.
3. NEW MEMBERS FOR CONSERVATION COMMITTEE
Regional Councillor Heath, Philip Ling and Brent have been interviewing potential candidates for the new term of office for the Committee. Brent commented that the new members should be formally appointed by the June 28th meeting. It was further suggested that the Committee needs to structure itself in a more formal way. There should be more officers and roles, like public relations, expenses, and special events. It was further suggested that more guest speakers to keep the Committee more current would be required.
The meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
