Update on North Toronto Cat Rescue
Shelter |
A Temporary-use application has
been made on behalf of the North Toronto Cat Rescue by the Town for a property
located on Langstaff Road. Because the
application was submitted by the Town, the rescue group was exempt from the
fees and are permitted to stay at the location for a maximum of three years,
at which time they can re-apply for an extension. It is estimated that they will be operating
from there for no more than 5-7 years.
The rescue organization is satisfied and acknowledges the terms of the
agreement. |
No further
action required. |

“No Kill Shelters” |
Terri distributed an article on
the “No Kill Shelter” philosophy. The
Committee expressed concerns with the licensing of cats, temperament testing,
and mass euthanasia. |
Research
the idea of a one time licence fee for cats. Promote
Foster Home temperament testing. Include
the provision “no mass euthanasia” in the new Animal Services contract with
the OSPCA. |
