Senior Grant Criteria
What is the Senior Grant
The Senior Grant is a Town
program that will fund
The maximum funding available
is $15,000.00. The maximum per project request is $3,000.00.
Who Can Apply
Eligible groups are: Senior/Older
Adult Non-profit clubs and/or community based groups who reside in the Town of
Ineligible are: Individuals,“ for profit” organizations ,Programs or services that are
the responsibility of other agencies or other levels of government and request
for funding to cover staff costs.
Grants will not exceed 50% of
annual revenue generated by the group applying.
What are the Program Requirements?
The projects are to be led
and carried out by Seniors for Seniors. Seniors need
to lead the project’s development and implementation, not just benefit from the
project’s success.
Project must:
· Involve seniors in planning and running the activities
· Be a Town of
· Activity must occur in the current fiscal year
Eligible
Activities for funding include:
· The project supports Outreach to vulnerable seniors
· The project involves developing and/or improving
· The project involves purchasing of equipment for new
· The project is to assist in operational cost e.g.
Facility rental cost
Funds will be allocated to Clubs/community
based groups who meet one or more of these criteria and meet the Council Grants
Eligibility Requirements outlined in the Town of
Application Deadlines
2008 Funding will be awarded
in 2008 for the period of September 2008 through to June 2009.
Application deadline will be
Step 1- Complete
the Application Form – Please ensure it is legible and signed.
Step 2- Attached any supporting information; club registration lists, club
annual budget; funding details;
Step 3- Submit
your application to Celebrate Markham Grant Sub- Committee
What will happen next?
The Celebrate Markham
Committee will review all applications based on the established criteria
outlined under the What are the Program Requirements section.
The committee will determine which projects will be funded and how much they
will be funded and make recommendation to General Committee and Council.
If your project is approved
for funding you will be contacted by the Clerks Department. If your application
is not approved, a letter will be sent.
Project Follow up
Upon completion of the
project each group will be required to submit a project report 30 days after
the projects completion date.
Project report should include:

Accounting of how
all funding has been spent
·
Description of
the success/ any shortfalls of the project
·
Photographs
·
Completed consent
form for use of photographs
