The
first meeting of the Canadian Sports Institute, Ontario (CSIO) Steering
Committee in 2008, convened at

Review and Update of Deloitte Report
Brenda
Librecz, Commissioner of Community Services, provided a draft copy of the
Deloitte report, and advised that it should be finalized this week. The capital
estimates are firm, but the operating estimates are still being prepared.

Pan Am Games – Bid Timeline
Brenda Librecz advised that

Committee is anticipated to make its final decision in April, 2009, rather than
the previous target date of October 2009, which means that bids have to be in
by March.

Review of Report and Presentation – ‘CSIO Update’
Staff briefly reviewed the
presentation that was made to General Committee on
The Committee noted that
although the Pan Am Games present an excellent opportunity, the ultimate
purpose of this committee is to advance the CSIO project. The Town will need to
determine what needs to be done for the bid book, and complete those
requirements.
Discussions included the
timing of requests to Infrastructure
The strategy, configuration,
and partnership for preliminary site layout and facility fit plans in the
context of the Markham Centre Plan are being worked on, although

that have provided letters of support, and the Town will have to follow-up with
them. The mayor requested a list of the organizations.
