Appendix 2: Timeline of MCF relocation project

DATE	PROGRESS
May, 2008	MCF committees began process to search for new festival locations
June, 2008	Scoring system of 7 categories and evaluation systems were determined and agreed by volunteers and staff
MAY-OCT 2008	Volunteers and Staff visited each proposed site.
September 17^th	A vote was done by all volunteer committee members. Decision was to have the festival moved to Markham Civic Centre. Staff did not take part in the vote. Staff helped with investigation and cautioned volunteers on any issues that can prevent MCF moved to Markham Civic Centre
October 11^th	Suggestion came from Councillor Kanapathi and HR Department to investigate about potentially moving festival to Featherstone Park. This held off the completion of the report.
October 12^th – October 21^st	Volunteers and staff investigated the possibility of moving festival to Featherstone Park
October 24^th	A final vote was done, where the volunteers decided that Markham Civic Centre is the most ideal location to hold the festival. Staff did not take part in the vote.
November, 2008	Report to be completed by staff and presented to Mayor and members of Council
December, 2008	3 MCF committees to reconvene to start planning for 2009 MCF
