MARKHAM CENTRE SUB-COMMITTEE
TERMS OF REFERENCE
Composition
The Markham
Centre Sub-Committee (MCS) is a
subcommittee of the Development Services Committee and shall be comprised of five
(5) Members of Council. All Regional
Councillors are alternates for Development Services Sub-Committees.
Development
Services staff will provide policy guidance to the Sub-Committee and Clerk’s
Department staff will provide secretariat support. Corporate Communications staff will
provide support in the area of public input and communications
Mandate
The specific
duties of the MCS shall include,
but not be limited to, the following:
- Monitoring and reviewing planning policy and
development issues specific to the Markham Centre area;
- Assist in developing a framework to address
policy formation and development review in the Markham Centre context;
- Assist in communicating the vision through public
participation and a variety of communication mechanisms;
- Recommending to Council a plan or series of plans
and activities that would facilitate the vision being achieved; and,
- Provide direction to staff to respond to
community input and issues.
Frequency of
Meetings
The MCS shall meet on a monthly basis or at the call of
the Chair.
