Project Summary: Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) & Backup Generators at Strategic Locations

 

The Town of Markham wishes to establish a permanent EOC at 8100 Warden Ave. This facility currently houses our Fire Department, Waterworks, Capital Assets and Operation Divisions. The EOC will be a permanent installation fully furnished and outfitted with computers, telecommunications, video surveillance, GIS mapping etc. with full natural gas back up power generation.

 

In addition we propose to provide back up natural gas generators at the facilities listed below so that these locations can be utilised for Cooling or Warming Centres as well as Reception or Evacuation Centres as required.

 

 

Costs:

The project budgets have been confirmed by staff and Power Stream our Hydro provider. None of these upgrades at any of the facilities identified below have been budgeted at this time.  At a high level, total costs are as follows:

Timeline:  Each project could be completed within 18 months.
