Adoption Strategy	Bob, Susan, and Valerie met with Dennis Flaherty of Corporate Communications to review a media strategy. Corporate Communications cannot promise Town page newspaper space every week for an adoption story but is committed to as many weeks as possible. Dennis committed to providing the Committee with a plan to decrease shelter intake and increase adoptions.	Invite Dennis to the next meeting for review of his proposal.	Christy
2010 Calendar Printer Selection	Five written quotes were received by the Committee. Committee reviewed the quotes the outcome of the vote was as follows: Images in Print: 0 Imagine 121 Inc.: 7 SMS Design: 0 Lacasse Printing: 1 Toronto Printing: 0 Based on the quotes provided, the Committee passed the following resolution with the intent to rescind the previous resolution from the March 3^rd, 2009 meeting: “That Imagine 121 Inc. provide design work and print 1,000 calendars at a cost to the Committee of $5,990.00; and, That the calendar budget is updated and finalized to reflect the design and printing costs; and, That Council approve the budget and authorize staff on behalf of the Animal Care Committee to spend up to $6,000.00 from account number 031 2220039 for the production of the 2010 calendar.” Moved By: Janet Andrews Seconded By: Bob Newman CARRIED Please note: Caroline was not present at the meeting and therefore did not take part in the discussion regarding printer selection; she has previously declared a conflict of interest on this item as her husband has submitted a quote for the project.
2010 Calendar Update	Project is ready to go upon budget approval.	No further action required at this time.
New Business	Committee members asked if Annabelle would assist with the Veterinary Tips for the calendar. Members discussed their concerns with the provisions of the Animal Control By-law, specifically relating to the number of animals permitted per household. Susan advised the Committee the OSPCA is participating in a few Markham Festivals and has invited the Committee to join them.	Annabelle agreed, production team will contact her when her input is needed. Susan recommended that should the committee wish to explore this initiative, that they test the sensitivity of the issue by first speaking to the Chair of the Committee. Significant support is needed by the Council of the committee if a change to this regulation was to be successful. Provide festival dates to members for sign-up.	Production Team Christy
