Rationale for Changes

The Transportation Building requires a kitchenette to support museum events and programs. Re-allocation of funds will enable installation of a kitchenette and upgraded electrical services. The capital project Historical Building Preservation Budget combined with Lighting and Electrical Services of S/W will fund this project. The Transportation Building was renovated in 2007/2008 as a rental hall, the addition of a kitchenette will increase the rental value of the space, provide enhanced education program and expanded event potential.

Mount Joy School administration area will be renovated as a staff and volunteer meeting, lunch and first-aid room. The Museum administration area will move to the first floor ‘class room’. This project will provide adequate space for operations and provide a suitable public inter-face.  Asset Management will purchase office furniture. The combination of three capital projects will provide the funding: Upgrade to Tactile Lounge, Koch-Burkholder House and Museum Historical Building and Preservation Fund.
