The third meeting of the Race Relations Committee convened at 7:20 p.m. without quorum.
1. CHAIRS OPENING REMARKS
Ms. Winnie Wales reported that she attended the Markham Miracle Community Dinner, a fundraising event for reconstruction projects focused on youth in Haiti. She felt the event was very well received.
Ms. Wales dismissed herself to attend a meeting with the Many Faces of Markham stage manager, and performance groups.
2. MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY 1 2010 RACE RELATIONS COMMITTEE
The Committee was unable to pass the February 1, 2010 Race Relations Committee Minutes, as there was no quorum.
3. DISCUSSION
There was a brief discussion regarding the Many Faces of Markham event, and how different people have different understandings of the meaning of diversity.
4. NEXT MEETING DATE
The next meeting of the Race Relations Committee will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010.
5. ADJOURNMENT
The Race Relations Committee adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
