That the minutes of the Committee of the Whole meeting held on March 6, March 20, and April 2, 2001 be confirmed.

That the number of citizen appointees to the Markham Race Relations Committee be increased by three (3) to a total of fifteen (15);

 

And that the number of Councillor appointments be increased from two (2) to three (3);

 

And that the following 2001 appointments to the Markham Race Relations Committee be confirmed:

That since Mr. David Allison has been appointed to the Markham Public Library Board, he be approached and advised of his appointment to the Markham Race Relations Committee;

 

And that he be advised of the Town policy prohibiting a citizen from sitting on more than one committee.

It be recommended to Council that the following 2001 appointments to the Frederick Horsman Varley Art Gallery of Markham Board be confirmed:

            Vijay Patel (Returning)

 

And that Councillor K. Usman also be appointed to the Canada Day Committee;

 

And that in addition to the one staff member from the Street Services Department, and the one staff member from the Parks Department, one representative from the Recreation Services Department be named by staff to serve on the Canada Day Committee;
