2. APPOINTMENTS - MARKHAM-CHINA
ADVISORY GROUP (16.24)

Report

Committee had before it the report dated January 24, 2006 from the Commissioner of Development Services and the Director of Economic Development regarding the business mission to China and next steps as well as the formation and appointments to the Markham-China Advisory Group.

Committee requested that a representative from the Richmond Hill and Markham Chinese Business Association be appointed to the Advisory Group and that the Canada China Business Council be involved.

Committee thanked Ted Northcott, Senior Business Development Officer, for his professionalism and diligence on this project.

Committee raised the matter of the mock emergency preparedness exercise held on January 30, 2006. It was suggested that a half day training session be held on the Emergency Management Plan.
